The 21-0 undefeated boxer who is said to be one fight away from becoming world champ spoke to Ben Askren on his podcast 'Fierce Talk' revealing that he will be retiring from the boxing ring at age 26 for one main reason and that is to join the MMA game, "Hey let me tell you something Ben, I've never said this on air. But after, I've always said I'm going to retire at 26. Everybody looks at me like I'm crazy right. But I'm doing it, to go into the MMA ring."
This comment will shock the boxing community as at age 26 Ryan will be at the peak of his career in boxing which may cause confusion and criticism from fans. Critics will say that this is another 'publicity stunt' to gain attention, Though if the statement is true, Ryan has a lot to learn in the future.
After stating that Ryan 'The Flash' will make a venture into MMA he asked Ben Askren (former mixed martial artist) to assist him in training. He said, "So I'm going to need you to teach me some wrestling techniques before a start even trying to dive in there. So a little wrestling and then we'll go from there, so..."
